TP‑Link Expands India Footprint with New R&D Centre and Hiring Push

Summary:
TP‑Link is strengthening its presence in India by opening a new R&D incubation centre in Mumbai and significantly increasing its workforce, aiming to foster innovation in Wi‑Fi 7, IoT, AI-driven network tech, and enterprise networking.

TP‑Link Systems is deepening its investment in India by launching a new incubation and R&D centre in Mumbai, the second major office in the city alongside its Delhi facility. Complementing this, the company is establishing a Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Bengaluru. These centres will focus on emerging technologies including Wi‑Fi 7, IoT, smart home automation, enterprise networks, and AI-driven network optimization.

Currently employing around 300 people in India, TP‑Link plans to significantly grow its headcount in the coming quarters—adding at least 80 R&D engineers in Hyderabad and increasing overall staff by 30%—across technology, analytics, finance, and shared services.

The incubation centre—co-located with the new Mumbai office—will foster innovation through collaborative tools, partner training, and hands-on demos for enterprise offerings. Supported by the state’s ministerial leadership, TP‑Link aims to nurture talent and drive India-centric tech development.

These efforts reinforce TP‑Link’s long-term growth strategy and commitment to the Indian market, creating a strong base for its “Make in India” initiative, building out after-sales support networks, and supporting local electronic manufacturing through partnerships with firms like Optiemus.
