Reliance Jio, the country’s largest telecom operator, delivered a strong performance in Q3 FY26, according to data released by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Friday. The operator reported a net profit of ₹7,629 crore, marking an 11.2% year-on-year increase. Among the major takeaways from the quarter was the continued momentum in Jio’s fixed broadband business. During the period, the company’s total 5G subscriber base crossed the 250-million mark to reach 253 million.
Jio’s fixed broadband segment continues to expand at a rapid pace, reflecting the operator’s success in attracting higher-value customers into its ecosystem. Most fixed broadband plans include a complimentary set-top box (STB) along with bundled over-the-top (OTT) services. Notably, Jio offers uniform pricing across its fibre-based broadband and wireless AirFiber plans.
Reliance Industries stated that Jio’s total fixed broadband connections rose to 25.3 million during the quarter, while JioAirFiber subscriptions climbed to 11.5 million as of December 2025. The company’s home broadband footprint has grown significantly over the past two years, driven largely by the widespread rollout of AirFiber across the country. The AirFiber offering is further strengthened by unlicensed band radio (UBR) technology, supported by 5G, which enables high-speed internet access in locations where laying fibre is challenging.
Jio also highlighted strong growth in its JioAICloud platform, which surpassed 50 million registered users as of December 2025. The service is being positioned primarily for young users and students nationwide. During the quarter, the company also rolled out Marathi and Gujarati voice search capabilities, along with AI-powered automatic file organisation features. More updates and detailed insights from Jio’s Q3 FY26 results are expected to follow.
