Global space solutions company SES and JioStar, the largest media conglomerate in South Asia, have signed a significant multi-year agreement.
As part of the partnership, SES will provide satellite distribution services for JioStar’s broad range of television channels across India and the wider Indian subcontinent through its IS-20 satellite.
According to a joint statement issued by the companies yesterday, moving JioStar’s services to SES’s IS-20 satellite will provide a robust and future-ready broadcast infrastructure, supported by flexible C-band and Ku-band delivery capabilities.
The platform is designed to deliver high-quality signals to cable, direct-to-home (DTH) and broadcast networks, enabling reliable connectivity for millions of households across the region.
IS-20 is an important part of SES’s established video neighbourhood and features advanced digital payload capabilities supporting broadcasters, telecom operators and media businesses across the Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.
