Amazon Commits Additional $13 Billion to Expand AI and Cloud Infrastructure in India

Amazon has announced an additional $13 billion investment in India by 2030 to expand its AI and cloud infrastructure, taking its total planned investment in the country to $48 billion. The new funding, announced after CEO Andy Jassy’s meeting with the Prime Minister in New Delhi, will be used to strengthen AI and cloud capabilities in the Mumbai and Hyderabad regions. 

Amazon has revealed plans to invest an additional $13 billion in India by 2030 to strengthen its artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing infrastructure.

This fresh commitment comes on top of the company’s previously announced $35 billion investment programme, increasing Amazon’s total planned investment in India to $48 billion by the end of the decade.

The announcement was made following a meeting between Amazon CEO Andy Jassy and the Prime Minister of India in New Delhi. According to the company, the new investment will be directed towards expanding AI and cloud infrastructure in the Mumbai and Hyderabad regions.
