ACT Fibernet Introduces Complimentary 3-Month Spotify Premium Access for Eligible Customers

Summary:
India’s push to lead in 6G is being held back by challenges in monetising 5G, despite rapid rollout and wide coverage. At the COAI DigiCom Summit, Julian Gorman of the GSMA highlighted the gap between ambition and current realities, noting limited financial returns and incomplete connectivity. With low consumer spending power and minimal premium pricing, operators struggle to generate revenue, while enterprise adoption remains slow due to regulatory and digital readiness issues. Although the government under Narendra Modi has outlined an ambitious 6G vision, the lack of a sustainable 5G business model could hinder progress toward future telecom goals.

ACT Fibernet Partners with Spotify to Offer Free Premium Access for Select Subscribers

ACT Fibernet (Atria Convergence Technologies Ltd), one of India’s leading wired broadband providers, has entered into a collaboration with Spotify to elevate the digital entertainment experience for its customers. Through this partnership, eligible ACT users will receive complimentary access to Spotify Premium Standard for a period of three months.

The initiative forms part of ACT’s broader strategy to combine high-speed connectivity with premium digital content, creating a more integrated home internet experience. With this offering, subscribers can enjoy ad-free Spotify streaming along with enhanced audio quality across multiple connected devices.

Complimentary Spotify Premium for Three Months

As part of the collaboration, qualifying ACT Fibernet customers will get Spotify Premium Standard access worth ₹597 at no extra cost. The subscription enables uninterrupted music and podcast streaming without advertisements.

Spotify Premium Standard also offers improved audio quality and seamless playback across smartphones, tablets, and other connected devices, catering to users who regularly consume entertainment content at home. ACT has integrated the activation process into its customer platform to ensure easy access for eligible subscribers.

Emphasis on Reliable Home Connectivity

The experience is supported by ACT’s SmartWiFi technology, which is designed to provide stable and uninterrupted internet coverage throughout the home. As households increasingly use multiple devices simultaneously for streaming and entertainment, reliable connectivity has become more important.

Through SmartWiFi, ACT aims to minimise buffering and connectivity disruptions, ensuring smooth audio streaming across rooms and devices. The company positions the combination of broadband performance and digital content as a core part of the offering.

Company Perspective on the Collaboration

Commenting on the partnership, Ravi Karthik, Chief Growth Officer at ACT Fibernet, noted that digital experiences within homes are evolving alongside changing online lifestyles, work patterns, and entertainment habits.

According to the company, the collaboration is intended to create a more unified digital ecosystem where premium connectivity and content services work together to enhance customer experience.

Increasing Importance of Music Streaming

Music streaming has become a significant component of broadband usage in connected homes. Consumers now expect uninterrupted access to high-quality audio content across devices, including music, podcasts, and other streaming formats.

As broadband continues to support entertainment-driven consumption, dependable internet performance remains essential. ACT and Spotify position this partnership as a response to these growing expectations and the increasing demand for immersive digital experiences.

Spotify’s View on the Partnership

Rami Jamal, Head of Partnerships for Southern Asia, Middle East and Africa at Spotify, highlighted the role of music in everyday life and digital engagement.

He stated that Spotify Premium is designed to provide users with uninterrupted listening, personalised recommendations, and an evolving entertainment experience. He also noted that India generates more than 16 billion music streams daily, underlining the growing importance of music streaming within connected households.

Content Access and Platform Features

With Spotify Premium Standard, users gain access to a vast catalogue featuring more than 100 million songs, over 7 million podcasts, and a selection of audiobooks. The platform offers personalised recommendations based on listening habits and supports uninterrupted playback across multiple devices.

The ad-free experience is intended to improve convenience and overall user engagement, especially for regular streaming audiences.
