Get Six Months of BSNL Broadband Service for Just Rs 1,449

Summary:
BSNL has introduced an affordable six-month Rural Entry broadband plan priced at ₹1,449, aimed at expanding internet connectivity in rural India. The plan offers 25 Mbps speeds, 700GB of high-speed data, unlimited landline calling (landline instrument sold separately), and access to Prasar Bharati WAVES Premium OTT content. With an effective monthly cost of about ₹241 (excluding taxes), the plan is designed to encourage broadband adoption by providing essential internet services at a budget-friendly price.

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), India’s government-owned telecom provider, offers a six-month broadband package priced at ₹1,449. Considering the cost of broadband services from many other operators, this plan is positioned as an economical option, especially since some monthly broadband plans from competing providers are priced above ₹1,000. Although the plan comes with modest internet speeds and a limited data allowance, it also includes an OTT (over-the-top) streaming benefit.

The offering is specifically designed for customers in rural parts of the country and is marketed by BSNL as the Rural Entry Plan. It is also available with a one-month validity at ₹259. Choosing the six-month option effectively reduces the monthly cost to around ₹241. Customers should note that applicable taxes will be charged in addition to the listed prices.

BSNL ₹1,449 Rural Entry Broadband Plan

The ₹1,449 Rural Entry Plan provides broadband speeds of up to 25 Mbps along with 700GB of high-speed data. Once the Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limit is exhausted, internet speeds are reduced to 2 Mbps. The plan also includes unlimited landline voice calling, although subscribers must purchase a landline handset separately to use this feature.

According to BSNL, the plan has been introduced to encourage broadband adoption and increase internet connectivity among rural households. Along with broadband and voice services, subscribers receive access to the Prasar Bharati WAVES Premium OTT platform. The recharge remains valid for six months.

While the plan offers relatively lower speeds and a capped data allowance, its affordable pricing makes it an attractive option for rural users. BSNL expects the offering to support wider broadband penetration by making internet access more accessible to households across rural India.
