Jio vs Airtel- Best Basic Broadband Plans in 2025

Jio vs Airtel- Best Basic Broadband Plans in 2025

Both Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio have unified their broadband services under a single umbrella to reduce confusion between their fiber and fixed wireless access (FWA) offerings. Jio has consolidated its broadband business under the brand name JioHome, which includes both FWA (JioAirFiber) and fiber connections. Similarly, Airtel has streamlined its Wi-Fi services under a single identity. In this comparison, we explore the entry-level broadband plans offered by both companies to help you decide which one provides better value.

Airtel’s Entry-Level Broadband Plan

Airtel offers its entry-level broadband plan at ₹499 per month. This plan provides speeds of up to 40 Mbps and includes a bundled subscription to Airtel Xstream Play, which gives access to over 22 OTT platforms. Customers opting for a six-month or 12-month subscription are also eligible for a free Wi-Fi router. The plan comes with a monthly data cap of 3.3TB, which is more than sufficient for most home users.

Jio’s Entry-Level Broadband Plan

Reliance Jio’s basic broadband plan is priced slightly lower, at ₹399 per month. It offers a speed of 30 Mbps and includes 3.3TB of monthly data. However, this plan does not include any OTT subscriptions. For those seeking entertainment options, Jio has a ₹599 plan that comes with a free Jio Set-Top Box and bundled access to multiple OTT platforms.

Which Plan Is Better?

In terms of affordability, Jio’s ₹399 plan has the edge. However, Airtel’s ₹499 plan offers better speed and entertainment benefits through its OTT bundle. If you’re looking for a complete entertainment and connectivity package, Airtel may be the better choice. On the other hand, Jio offers flexibility with a lower price point and optional upgrades for OTT access.

Ultimately, the right plan depends on your specific needs. Whether you prioritize price, speed, or entertainment content, both operators offer solid options. You can book a connection through the official websites or mobile apps of Airtel and Jio.
