BSNL Broadband Plan Offers 50 Mbps Speed with Unlimited Calling

BSNL Broadband Plan Offers 50 Mbps Speed with Unlimited Calling

Summary:
BSNL continues to maintain a strong presence in India’s broadband market, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas, while also playing a key role in the BharatNet project through BBNL integration. Among its popular offerings is the ₹399 Spark fiber broadband plan, available in select regions, which provides up to 50 Mbps download and upload speeds, 3.3TB monthly data, and unlimited voice calling. After the first year, the monthly price increases to ₹449, with speeds reduced to 4 Mbps once the data limit is exhausted. Including GST, the effective monthly cost comes to around ₹471. Although the plan offers substantial data and calling benefits at an affordable price, it does not include IPTV or OTT streaming services.

BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) continues to remain a significant player in India’s broadband market, particularly in rural and semi-urban regions where its network presence has historically been extensive. Before private operators such as Jio and Airtel expanded aggressively into broadband services, BSNL was among the few providers offering connectivity across a large number of locations in the country. Even today, with several regional internet providers in the market, the state-owned telecom operator retains a strong position in the fiber broadband segment. Through the integration of Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL), BSNL also plays a key role in implementing the government’s BharatNet initiative.

One of the company’s widely discussed broadband offerings is its 50 Mbps fiber plan priced at ₹399 per month. Known as the Spark plan, this package is currently available only in select circles.

Under the BSNL ₹399 Spark broadband plan, customers receive download and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps along with 3.3TB of monthly data usage. The plan also includes unlimited voice calling benefits. However, subscribers are required to arrange their own landline handset, as BSNL does not provide the telephone instrument.

After the initial 12 months, the monthly rental for the plan increases to ₹449. The advertised 50 Mbps speed remains available until the 3.3TB data limit is reached, after which internet speed is reduced to 4 Mbps. In addition, applicable GST of 18 percent is charged separately, taking the effective monthly cost to around ₹471.

While the plan offers a substantial amount of data and unlimited calling at a relatively affordable price point, it does not include IPTV or OTT streaming subscriptions as part of the package.
