Speaking at the launch, the minister said the project aligns with the government’s objective of building digitally connected and self-sustaining rural communities. He also noted that the Samriddhi Gram Project has gained international recognition through its nomination for the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Awards 2026 under the Enabling Environment category.
The minister further highlighted the initiative’s “phygital” model, which integrates physical infrastructure with high-speed connectivity provided through BharatNet. He described it as a scalable and replicable framework that can serve as a model for rural development across India.
